T&A Shower!

Tina and Aaron are getting married! Yay! And being one of the bridesmaids, I got to help her sister, Nicole, with the shower! Nicole did a great job with the food and all the planning and I got to come in and add my little touch here and there--I think I got the better end of the deal if you ask me.

The shower took place at Nicole's apartment in DC so I flew up for the weekend and it was so much fun! I'm so glad I got to go and be a part of that. Tina has such a sweet set-up there in DC--great city, great friends, and great shopping! We visited a free standing Anthropology and I'm in love. But anyway, back to the shower:

Some flower poofs in the colors of the shower/wedding (yellow, black, white, gray). I learned how to make them in my 10th grade Spanish class on Cinco de Mayo (Thanks Mrs. Segui!) but they've become quite popular lately, thanks to Martha.

I also made those tridangle things again and hung them around the apartment and on the door when guests first came in. I love those things. They're so festive and can be easily personalized for any theme.

Here are some favors--crocheted rosettes (thanks Mama Amato for your help) and chocolate-coconut truffles, hand-rolled by Nicole and me (in the silver boxes). I also put together a game of LOVE bingo (we used the necco wafers as bingo chips) and Nicole made handmade gift card holders for the prizes--they were so cute!

And, of course, I made cupcakes. I have some regrets about this batch. For one, I should have done a yellow colored cup, icing, or cake--all the white is a little bland. Secondly, they didn't taste very good :( It was a recipe I'd never used and they ended up tasting like lemon corn bread--bleh! I could tell everyone else thought so too 'cause there were so many leftover :( Oh well, at least they looked kinda cute and added to the theme a little.

All in all, I think it was a success. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and that's all that really matters, right?
